31/3/09 - ALBUM TEASER MEGAMIX! PLUS SHENANIGANS

Salutations!

And how are we all on this Tuesday morn?! The weather seems to be on the turn for the better over on this fair isle so I think there is plenty to smile about. First things first, we've had a fantastic response to the presale editions of our new CD City of Thieves. As you can see, the artwork of the myspace and site have gone on to encompass the embrace of everything City-esque. You've still got two or three weeks to get your orders in before these editions wing their way to the chosen ones but, if you're thinking 'yawn, I'll do it tomorrrow' then I'd recommend you take that old piece of Boom advice and 'Do It Today' because we're getting through them! The first 1000 pre-orders will receive a special edition of the album which will be housed in a delightful digipak and contain a full-colour, signed-by-the-band poster of Dan Mumford's amazing City of Thieves artwork. The standard edition is in shops April 20th, just in time for the City of Thieves tour.

As yet another carrot on the end of the stick for you delightful patrons we've stuck up a 'teaser' of the album up on the myspace. In the tradition of Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers, (one of our main influences truth be told) Ben spent the best part of his mid-afternoon cobbling together our methodically, laboriously arranged musical art into a five minute clusterbang of nonsensical noisecore known in the industry as a MEGAMIX. Apparently it's all the rage at the moment. Go and listen to it now HERE and, once you've been suitably teased, don't forget to comment and let us know which of these beautiful masterpieces you're most looking forward to as Neil would say.

Those tasty tourdates are finalised right now! From Bristol Croft onwards Random Hand support on all dates...

Neil requests that the Facebookers among you come and join the event that he has started for the May tour on Facebook HERE. The advantages of joining this group are huge. You can speak to other people going to the same gigs as you meaning you can co-ordinate your outfits, make each other mixtapes, smuggle rare jewels, allsorts of stuff. We're also interested to hear what songs you guys want to hear, so get your requests in sharpish!

Speaking of sharing and getting mucking in and all that beeswax, I hope that everyone checked out Ben's viral vid for 'The Concrete We're Trapped Within (It's Yours)'. In the grand tradition of the proud soap-dodging squatmonkeys whose pluck and vigour we are lyrically celebrating within the song itself, Ben has gone and pilfered art and images from every which place he can to formulate a mildly epilepsy-inducing vision of the afformentioned themes... So go and look at it HERE and spread it! Again, it's apparently all the rage! After watching the vid, please can we ask for a second of your time? Underneath the vid window is a column that says SHARE VIDEO ON... and below that is Post Bulletin. Please click this to share the viral vid all over the world wide web.It really does only take a second and would be greatly appreciated!

And that, for this week, is that! But don't you think we're slowing down, oh no. We've got a live video of a new tune, another new tune and a very special online promotion with an exclusive track to go in the weeks before the eventual release of what Neil is already calling 'The Album of the Year.' So don't touch that dial.

Barney x

p.s. Fruitbag wins the 'get in the Boom mailout' prize for sending me this, this very morning. It's better than the front of Kerrang! because I'm on it too, sharing a strictly manly, platonic Bro-kiss, which mainstream magazines are currently too straight-laced, or scared, to replicate.
